Sudbrook and West Willoughby Village Hall Charity is a community-led initiative dedicated to enriching the lives of residents in Sudbrook and West Willoughby. Based in the heart of Sudbrook, we provide a welcoming green space and host inclusive events throughout the year that bring our villages together.
Our mission is to foster connection, wellbeing, and shared purpose by creating opportunities for all ages to gather, celebrate, and support one another. With the community at our core, we are actively fundraising to build a permanent village hall — a lasting home for local activities, celebrations, and support services.

A Sizzling Summer BBQ at Sudbrook and West Willoughby Village Hall
We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our recent summer BBQ event at Sudbrook and West Willoughby Village Hall! Under clear blue skies and warm sunshine, the community came together for an unforgettable afternoon filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and plenty of fun.
Our BBQ was a true celebration of local flavours, with mouthwatering dishes prepared using ingredients sourced from nearby farms and producers. The bar was a hit, serving a selection of locally brewed beers that perfectly complemented the summer vibes.
Families, friends, and even a few four-legged companions joined in the festivities. From lawn games to laughter-filled conversations, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The event was a wonderful reminder of the strong community spirit that makes our villages so special.
We’re proud to share that all profits from the day will go directly toward our ongoing fundraising efforts to further develop and enhance the village hall site. This event was not only a celebration of summer but also a step forward in our commitment to sustainability and community growth.

Sudbrook and West Willoughby Village Hall AGM – A Time of Reflection and Renewal
On 8th September, the Sudbrook and West Willoughby Village Hall hosted its Annual General Meeting, marking an important moment for our community. The evening began with a heartfelt thank you from the Chair, who expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the outgoing committee over the past year.
In accordance with our village hall charter, the entire committee formally resigned, paving the way for a fresh election. Many familiar faces were re-elected, bringing continuity and experience to the team. At the same time, a few long-standing members chose to step down, citing other priorities. Though sad to leave their roles, they shared their enthusiasm to continue supporting the committee through event attendance and ad hoc help whenever needed.
Following the election, the newly formed committee wasted no time in looking ahead. Plans are already underway for several exciting events, including a Curry Night, more of our popular Friday Night Socials, and the much-loved Christmas Sing-Along, which promises to be as festive and joyful as ever.
We’re grateful to everyone who attended the AGM and to all those who continue to support our village hall. Together, we’re building a vibrant, welcoming space for all to enjoy.
Summer Fête 2024 – A Sweet Success!
Our 2024 Summer Fête at Sudbrook and West Willoughby Village Hall was a delightful celebration of community spirit, sunshine, and sweet treats!
Blessed with beautiful weather and a fantastic turnout, the event was buzzing with laughter, conversation, and the aroma of freshly baked goodies. One of the highlights of the day was our very own "Bake Off", which saw an impressive array of cakes and bakes from talented local residents. The standard was so high that judging proved to be quite the challenge—but thankfully, we had a few expert members from the local Women's Institute (WI) on hand to led their discerning palates and help crown the winners.
The tombola was another crowd favourite, drawing in eager participants with a wide selection of excellent prizes. The excitement and smiles were a joy to see, and it was clear that everyone—from the youngest visitors to the young at heart—had a wonderful time.
A huge thank you to all who baked, volunteered, attended, and supported the event. Your contributions helped make the day a true success and continue to strengthen the bonds within our community.
